RECREATION & ENRICHMENT

Programs and spaces designed to encourage friendship, creativity, movement, and personal achievement.

At Beverly Farm, recreation and enrichment are not extras — they are essential. Our programs are designed to encourage friendship, creativity, movement, and personal achievement, giving the individuals we serve meaningful ways to grow, connect, and enjoy life every day. These programs are made possible through the generous support of our donors, whose gifts fund the activities, equipment, and experiences that make Beverly Farm a truly vibrant community.

Groves B. Smith Recreation Center

Our Groves B. Smith Recreation Center is a hub for fitness, wellness, and fun at Beverly Farm. Featuring a gymnasium and a heated, indoor swimming pool, the center supports year-round fitness, therapeutic activity, and fun.

Gymnasium

The gym at the Groves B. Smith Recreation Center is a versatile gathering space for recreation and community events. With a half-court basketball court and stage, it regularly hosts resident dances, bingo nights, basketball, indoor bocce, volleyball, movie marathons, birthday celebrations, arts & crafts sessions, afternoons of board games, and a wide range of other fun activities. It is also where we hold favorite annual special events including our TLC & Company variety show, Christmas play, and Joyful Noise choir concert.

Heated Indoor Swimming Pool

The Groves B. Smith Recreation Center’s heated indoor swimming pool provides year-round opportunities for exercise, wellness, and recreation. Residents enjoy supervised swim sessions and aquatic activities that support fitness, mobility, relaxation, and confidence — all in a safe, comfortable environment.

EQUESTRIAN CENTER

Not many people have a professionally-cared-for team of horses living next door, waiting to saddle up and ride… but Beverly Farm proudly offers this exceptional amenity! Time spent with horses supports balance, coordination, confidence, and emotional well-being. Our Equestrian Center staff creates opportunities through equine-assisted activities and riding programs.

The I Am An Artist program encourages residents to explore their creativity through painting and visual art. The program celebrates each artist’s unique style and while encouraging self-expression and growth.

Beverly Farm Choir

Our Beverly Farm Choir gives the individuals we serve the opportunity to share their voices, talents, and love of music with others. Choir members rehearse regularly and perform throughout the year at special events and celebrations on campus and throughout our Riverbend community. Their annual spring Joyful Noise concert is a highlight of the season, bringing the community together for an uplifting performance filled with heart and harmony.

The Shoppes at Beverly Farm

At Beverly Farm, retail therapy has many meanings! The Shoppes give both the people who live here and visitors a welcoming place to shop, socialize, and support our programs through their purchases. The Resale Shoppe offers affordable clothing, books, movies, music, gifts, and unique finds, while the Coffee Shoppe is a favorite gathering spot for snacks, drinks, and conversation.

OTHER ACTIVITIES, EVENTS, AND OUTINGS

Each month, Beverly Farm’s Activities Team plans a full calendar of themed opportunities designed to keep residents engaged, connected, and inspired. We’ve hosted a prom where everyone got decked out in beautiful formal wear that celebrated all bodies and styles. We’ve cheered on the Harlem Globetrotters and the St. Louis Cardinals. We’ve enjoyed hayrides, country fairs, outings to the Muny Opera, and excursions to the beautiful parks that dot our region. These experiences support social connections and overall well-being, filling our days with meaningful moments.
