Many of the staff at Beverly Farm advanced their careers through a combination of experience and training. We provide intensive training to help you develop your skills and prepare you to obtain the certifications needed to become one of our dedicated professionals or a member of our direct support staff.

Direct Support Person Classroom Training Curriculum
This is an Illinois DHS state approved curriculum and is taught by DHS approved instructors. This training will satisfy the 40-hour classroom training portion of the 120-hour DSP training required by the state of Illinois. This course is a two-week class (Mon-Fri) 8:30-4:30 and classes start every two weeks.

Food Sanitation Class
This course is a two-day training course taught by state approved instructors. Attendance for recertification (5 hour continuing education) is required for day one only; attendance for certification is required for both days. Class time is 8:30-5pm for both days.

Self Administration of Medication (Rule 116)
This training course is a competency based, standardized medication curriculum specified by DHS with a comprehensive examination by DHS. Class time is 8:30-5pm.

Adult CPR/First Aid Class
This class is taught by an approved American Red Cross instructor. Class time is 8am-4pm.
